    Fatima Logan-Alston, is an interdisciplinary artist and educator committed to engaging communities in exceptional artistic experiences that are interconnected with culture, history, and community. Her interdisciplinary work incorporates contemporary and traditional dance, live music, and visual arts. She has performed at national and international venues, including The Sheen Center for Thought and Culture (NY), Brooklyn Academy of Music, International Association of Blacks in Dance (Ontario, Canada), and the International African Diaspora Dance Traditions Conference (Salvador, Brazil). Her collaborators have included Ntozake Shange, Valerie Capers, and Bobby Sanabria. She has performed in the Curtain Up Broadway Festival, Lincoln Center Outdoors, and Adam Pendleton's film, So We Moved: A Portrait of Jack Halberstam.

    Logan-Alston received her BFA in Dance and Choreography from Virginia Commonwealth University (Summa Cum Laude), and a MA in liberal arts from SUNY Old Westbury. Her residencies have included Long Island University Post, Hunter College, and Hostos Community College through the CUNY Dance Initiative.  She has toured as a company member of the African-American Dance Ensemble under the direction of the late Chuck Davis and Forces of Nature Dance Theater, directed by Adbel Salaam. She is a recipient of the Disability Dance. Artistry. Dance and Social Justice Fellowship from the Ford Foundation, the UMEZ Seed for Dance Award, and has been awarded support from the New York Council for the Arts. She is an Adjunct Professor at SUNY Old Westbury and a teaching artist with Alvin Ailey Arts in Education and Community Programs

    David Alston is a musician, composer, and educator, accomplished in world and classical percussion. A native of Durham, North Carolina, David began his musical journey studying Percussion and Cello at Durham School of the Arts and North Carolina Central University. David has toured with The African American Dance Ensemble and Urban Bush Women and has been a musician for many companies including Ballet Hispanico and The Ailey School. He has traveled to Hong Kong/Macau China, Tokyo, Japan, and Toronto, Canada, and has performed at Lincoln Center Outdoors. David has been a teaching artist with Bronx Children's Museum, Ethical Culture Fieldston, and has received awards for his original compositions.

  • Patrice Golbourne, a Brooklyn native with a deep passion for dance and community. Embracing her Caribbean heritage, she was inspired by African Diaspora dance, leading her to pursue a performing arts career. Ms. Golbourne is dedicated to honing her skills, techniques and growing as a performer. She is thrilled to be a part of Threads of Truth.

  • Ingeborg Kolstad is a Norwegian, New York City-based dancer and choreographer. She graduated from Marymount Manhattan College with a BA in Dance and has performance experience from both stage and television. She is currently dancing with Threads of Truth Inc. under the artistic direction of Fatima Logan-Alston, and has previously performed works by Angie Pittman, Thryn Saxon, Alberto Del Saz etc.

    As a choreographer and performer she has presented her works at numerous festivals and venues in New York City,including the Alvin Ailey Citigroup Theater, the Emelin Theater, the Tank Theater, 54Below, the Triad Theater, the Estonian House, and the Jack Crystal Theater. Current commissioned developments include Oslo Jazzdance Festival and the Steffi Nossen Dance Theater Group. Ingeborg has received numerous stipends and awards for her artistry, the most recent being the Engebrėt Stipend awarded by the Artist Association in Norway.em description

  • Dahyun Kim(she/they) is a dancer, choreographer, and educator from Seoul, Republic of Korea currently based in NYC. They have received their MFA in Dance at Tisch & MA in Dance Education at Steinhardt NYU with an Outstanding Artistry Award. A technically agile, versatile, and expressive dancer, Dahyun currently dances with Threads of Truth, Umami Playground Dance Company Inc., Gotham Dance Theater, and Ah Molla Dance Collective. They have also danced for renowned artists such as Ronald K. Brown, Laja Field, Victor Rottier, Jesse Obremski, and more. A recent recipient of 'What Can We Do?' Grant 2025 by Asian American Arts Alliance, Dahyun uses her artistry as a dancer, choreographer, and educator to uplift Korean heritage, using movement as a powerful tool for sincere connection and cultural expression.

  • Gabriella Loo started her dancing training at the age 3 in her hometown of Fort Lauderdale, at Lavonne Lear Dance and Margate Dance Center. From there s h e continued her training at The University Center forPerforming Arts, and earned her degree in Dance, with a focus in Modern, from Broward College. After college, she moved to New York City, where she was a student at The Martha Graham School of Contemporary Dance. Currently she works as a dancer and teaching artist throughout the city.

  • Born and raised in Brooklyn, Karisa trained in styles including ballet, lyrical, jazz, tap, and pointe. Now, she mainly focuses on modern, contemporary and styles within the African diaspora. Karisa graduated from Manhattanville University in 2020, where she received a B.A in Dance & Theatre and Business. She has danced in shows for the off-broadway production The Wounded Soul in theatres around White Plains in 2017. Karisa continues to expand her experience with performances at Disney World and Hershey Park, as well as overseas dance opportunities like Dance Italia in Italy and soon Moulin/Belle in France. She is currently apart of 2 NYC based companies and is passionate about teaching Pilates and dance.

  • Giovanni E. Padilla Rios is a Puerto Rican dancer that has performed a variety of dance styles throughout the years. He started his dance education at the Conservatory of Music of Puerto Rico. He then trained at the School of Performing Arts of Trujillo Alto until moving to New York in 2017. While in NY, he continued his dance training at Dance Cavise and Manhattanville College, where he obtained a Bachelor’s Degree in Dance with minors in Musical Theatre and Psychology. After graduation, he has continued to perform, and he hopes to continue growing as an artist and person.

  • Bria Vainqueur, a New Jersey-born artist, has lived through movement since the age of three. Her journey has taken her from kitchen stove reflections as a little girl to concert stages all around. She has trained with Inspira Performing Arts Academy, Princeton Youth Ballet, NJPAC, Alvin Ailey, Dance Theatre of Harlem, Ballet Hispánico as a Pa’lante Scholar, and Rockettes Dance Training. A dedicated professional, Bria recently joined Threads of Truth in New York City and teaches Ballet, Jazz, and Contemporary to young artists. While continuing her performance career, she studies psychology at Kean University with plans to pursue dance/movement therapy after her time on stage.
